Avoid color-printed newspapers.<\/p><\/li><li><p align=\"left\">Moisten the bedding material.<\/p><\/li><li><p align=\"left\">You can also add decomposed manure (not raw).<\/p><\/li><li><p align=\"left\">Next, mix in food for them. Use plant matter. Kitchen scraps make great food for your worms.<\/p><\/li><li><p align=\"left\">Do not add dairy products, oils, or bones.<\/p><\/li><li><p align=\"left\">Add red worms or earthworms.<\/p><\/li><li><p align=\"left\">Cover the top with a layer of wet newspaper.<\/p><\/li><li><p align=\"left\">The worms feed on the plant matter and leave nutrient-rich castings behind.<\/p><\/li><li><p align=\"left\">Continue to provide a regular supply of plant matter&#8230;it&#8217;s their food source.<\/p><\/li><li><p align=\"left\">Keep the worm farm in a cool, dark location. If the container is in sunlight, it can get too hot for the worms to survive.<\/p><\/li><li><p align=\"left\">Harvest finished compost, which is full of rich worm castings.
