You&#8217;d be amazed at what can be composted. And, many compostable materials still find their way to a landfill.<\/p><\/li><li><p align=\"Left\">Use organic fertilizers &#8211; throw away the chemical fertilizers. Organic compost can provide all of the fertilizer and nutrients your plants require to grow strong and healthy.\u00a0<\/p><\/li><li><p align=\"Left\">Apply a layer of compost or mulch around plants to help retain water. This translates to less use of limited water resources.<\/p><\/li><li><p align=\"Left\">Don&#8217;t bag those grass clippings and set them out for the trash pickup. Either compost them yourself or take them to a town recycling center. Ditto, for fall leaves.<\/p><\/li><li><p align=\"Left\">Encourage your local government to start or expand recycling centers to compost leaves, brush, and other yard waste.<\/p><\/li><li><p align=\"Left\">Encourage businesses and especially schools and restaurants to start a composting program.<\/p><\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section
